Our client is a Technology company, a global provider of Big Data for legal, regulatory and business analytics that helps customers to improve decision-making and results.
This position is a subject matter expert who provides assistance and input to management. Focal point for solving complex issues via defining and/or executing actions to successfully complete. Provides significant input, support, and expertise to both internal business and technology resources as relates to existing and proposed data projects and services.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Data Quality experience, data management and strategy.
Bachelor’s Degree (mathematics, statistics. Computer Science preferred but not required); or equivalent experience required.Advanced degree preferred.
Experience in data manipulation, cleansing, relational databases.
Analytical vision and curiosity with data mining and manipulation skills.
Ability to learn quickly, work with a team, and communicate effectively.
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to describe technical results to non-technical audiences.
Fluent in English and Portuguese
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Knowledge in development languages such as SQL, UNIX, Linux, XML. ECL.
Knowledge of one of SAS, R or Python.
Ability to partner with and lead internal and external technology resources in solving complex business needs.
Strong knowledge and in-depth understanding of functional area and all data, products and services served from it.
Strong skills in communicating, implementing, and achieving business objectives and goals through the direct management of others.
Strong problem-solving experience involving leading teams in identifying and researching issues.
Advanced knowledge and expertise with various data types and formats including, but not limited to: XML, flat files, delimited, etc.
Strong organization/project planning, time management, and change management skills across multiple functional groups and departments, and strong delegation skills involving prioritizing and reprioritizing projects and managing projects of various size and complexity.
Advanced problem-solving experience involving leading teams in identifying, researching, and coordinating the resources necessary to effectively troubleshoot/diagnose complex project issues; prior success extracting/translating findings into alternatives/solutions; and identifying risks/impacts and schedule adjustments to facilitate management decision-making.
Advance communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills applicable to a wide audience including senior and executive management, customers, etc., including diction/terminology and presenting information in a concise and effective manner to clients, management, and various departments using assorted communication mediums.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Serve as a primary data analysis point of contact for external technology resources.
Work directly with vendors, internal Clients (end users).
Serve as acknowledged “go to” person for data subject matter expertise.
Interface with other technical personnel or team members to finalize requirements.
Serve as primary escalation point for internal and external issues within specific area of responsibility.
Specialized business support through independent complex data analysis and research.
Support business or other data engineering teams with data subject matter expertise.
Design, complete, and present new data evaluations to diverse audiences.
Create data documentation including mappings and quality thresholds.
Serve as technical mentor for less experienced team members.
Oversee team technical best practices, including code reviews.
Serve as focal point for requirements drafting, defining, and/or gathering as related to projects within or affecting specific area of responsibility.
Successfully implement and execute data management and analysis processes and procedures which support group expectations.
Resolve complex data issues as necessary within specific functional area or data type.
Produce, and manage from staff, new ideas which foster improvements via innovation.
Utilize various data workflow management and analysis tools.
